Afghanistan
Sergeant Rick Tennant's first 60+ photos from his deployment to Afghanistan as part of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) team are now on line. Check them out on the page here. Have you got stories or photos from your deployment? Contact [email protected] and we'll get them on line to share with the rest of the regimental family! Photos from the Rick Tennant collection were added to the 1993 UNPROFOR page. Do we need to plan some serious photographs during the reunion? A schedule of group photos throughout the evening? All those that were deployed on UNPROFOR gather at 2000 hrs with the photographer? Is there a volunteer in the audience that would like to volunteer as the official photographer? Contact me at [email protected] and we'll work out the details.

As we celebrate our 100 years, it's important to reflect on the deeds of those that have gone before us. The 31st Battery at Vimy, the 68th Battery in North Russia, the 85th in Siberia are all part of our regimental history as are those individuals that volunteered for the Sinai, Cyprus, Croatia and Bosnia. Of course there is also the domestic operations including forest fires and the Fraser Valley floods of 1949. Not all of those that served in 15th Field Artillery Regiment have deployed on operations, but we all stood together in service to our country. Ready to be called as those in the 15th (Vancouver) Coast Brigade were called in 1939. Operation PEREGRINE was a domestic Canadian military operation that took place between August 3 and September 16, 2003. In early August 2003, British Columbia was overwhelmed by over 800 separate forest fires. Provincial fire services were stretched to the breaking point, and tens of thousands of people were forced to evacuate their homes. After responding to a severe interface fire in Barriere BC, the provincial government requested federal aide. Sergeant Ian M Smith and Sergeant Rick Tennant were some of the members from the unit that volunteered. Did you work on the fireline? Send me your name and story so I can add it to the list. Reach out to your buddies from Op Peregrine and tell them to join you at the 100th Regimental Birthday party! Last count I received was that we were at 175! Don't miss out, it only happens every 100 years!
