It looks like we're headed towards a successful Birthday Party coming up on 1 February 2020. As of today, 166 tickets have been purchased. Order yours now before we encounter the max capacity for Bessborough Armoury and shut down sales. I do not have everyone's TOS date but the numbers I have indicate that we have members from the following decades: 1950s-2, 1960s-3, 1970s-8, 1980s-17, 1990s-14, 2000s-6, 2010s-12 . Cyprus Range Day
Capt Rob Wishnicki has provided some additional photos from Cyprus OP SNOWGOOSE 58. The latest series features range day on the island. C7, C9, mortars and Karl Gustaf. It looks like a great day! Another 100 photos have been added to Rick Tennant's Afghanistan tour page. There appears to be a substantial difference in the quantity of photos taken during the UNPROFOR days in the 90s and the Afghanistan tours. Trust you're enjoying the photos from eleven years ago. have you got any from your tour to share? Bring them down on a USB to the Regimental Centennial Party on 31 Jan/1Feb. I'll bring my laptop for downloads. Have you purchased your ticket yet? The Vancouver Sun and the the Province carried a few articles about the artillery during the year. The new Commanding Officer of the Active Force unit, Lt-Col Alfred Hood was featured as was BSM Trappitt working for the War Fund. There was a very interesting photo of the parents of a future Commanding Officer, Maj Richard Walkem, rehearsing for their radio contact with their son in Europe. Quite different than today's contact with deployed members. Check out the other exciting stories from 1942.
The first meeting between President Bill Clinton of the United States of America and Russian President Boris Yeltsin. It was held in Vancouver 3 April 1993 and the Regiment fired salutes for each of their arrivals. Rob Wishnicki's collection just yielded up two additonal photographs of the event. Does anyone know who the other detachment commanders were? Does anyone have additional photos? Check out the other photos on the 1993 page.
