The Regiment opened the doors of the Bessborough Armoury for an Open House on 29 September 2018. Distinguished guests include the Minister of National Defence Harjit Sajjan, Director General Army Reserves Brigadier General Rob Roy Mackenzie and the Brigade Commander 39 Canadian Brigade Group Colonel Paul Ursich.
Honorary Colonel (Brig ret) James Crossley Stewart CBE DSO CD
17 February 1891 - 11 June 1972. A native of Kingston, Ontario and graduate of the Royal Military College, Brigadier General Stewart commanded a Field Brigade in World War I and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order. He was appointed Commander Royal Artillery 1st Canadian Division on 15 December 1939, Commander Corps Royal Artillery VII British Corps 19 Jul 1940, Commander Corps Royal Artillery I Canadian Corps on 24 Dec 1940. After the Second World War he retired to Vancouver and was appointed Honorary Colonel 43rd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RCA on 26 July 1949. During his career he was made a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) and an Officier de Leopold II Croix de Guerre.
